Although we do not know the history of this painting, it helps us to remember that in the 18^th and 19^th centuries, traditional shipyards abounded on the beaches of the Catalan coast, building and repairing wooden sailing ships. The author shows us the tasks involved in the maintenance of a ship at the Cristóbal Colón shipyards in Barcelona.
